Flexibly use IXL Lesson Plans
IXL Lesson Plans are easy to work into your daily instruction. With 20-25 lessons per grade, IXL has you covered for teaching some of the most important topics in K-5.
You can flexibly use IXL Lesson Plans by finding the material that best aligns with your learning goals in the “Lesson” tab of your grade’s math page. At the bottom of the page, you’ll see lesson plans arranged by topic and the little bird icon.
Follow IXL’s week-by-week plans
To get even more time-saving instructional support, use IXL Lesson Plans alongside the Weekly Boost skill plan! The Weekly Boost plans map out a week-by-week schedule of IXL skills that cover the most important topics for each grade level.
As you work through the Weekly Boost, you’ll notice that IXL Lesson Plans are already distributed throughout, introducing content at the just right time alongside the perfect support skills. You’ll know a lesson plan is coming when you see the little blue bird!
How IXL Lesson Plans support your curriculum
Each lesson plan is designed to help you teach key concepts for your students’ grade level. At the beginning of every lesson, you’ll get a high-level overview of how your curriculum is being supported with the lesson’s objective and big idea, and which standards are covered.
Many lessons include readiness skills to help students prepare for the day’s class. Try turning those skills into a class warm-up activity using Group Jam!
IXL Lesson Plans also include a number of materials to support your teaching. Each lesson comes with printable student worksheets for the instructional and guided practice sections of the lesson. Other lessons outline ways to use common manipulatives to make math learning more hands-on for students!

Throughout the digital lesson plan, IXL provides teacher notes and tips for support to help you spot students that are struggling and provide strategies to assist them.
