Warning: The list contains spoilers for Ms. Marvel.
After that dramatic finale to Disney+'sMs. Marvel, fans have already taken toRedditto discuss their thoughts and theories regarding Kamala's future in the MCU. Though Marvel debunked theories aboutKamala's shapeshifting ability, the episode left plenty of threads unresolved and raised even more questions than resolutions, so Marvel fans have no shortage of material to base their considered theories on.
Not only did theMs. Marvelfinale reveal that Kamala Khan is the MCU's first mutant, but it also featured a shocking mid-credits scene that saw Brie Larson return as Carol Danvers after seemingly swapping places with Kamala in her teenage bedroom - and fans have plenty of thoughts about what this could mean.
Kamala Khan Has Inhuman DNA
Though all the signs point towards Kamala Khan beinga mutant, Reddit user avataraurintheorizes that the mutation found in Kamala's DNA is actually a sign of her status as an Inhuman: "I then theorize that the bangle activated [Kamala's] Inhuman DNA, which then made Kamala have a stronger connection to her Noor DNA."
Kamala Khan has a tight history with the Inhumans in the comic books, but it seems that the MCUhas decided to take a fairly different route with her character so far. However, if the MCUisgoing to introduce the Inhumans at some point, it seems logical that Kamala will have something to do with it.
Kamala IsMutant 'Patient Zero'
How and when the MCU will introduce mutants (and consequently the X-Men) has been a huge topic of debate for a long time now, andMs. Marvel seems to have finally shed a little light on the question. Fans know that she's the first confirmed mutant in the MCU, but Redditor 420moxxysuggests that she should actually be one of the first mutants in the world.
Having Kamala as one of the very first humans to carry mutant DNA would make for areally exciting storyline, and it could be a great way of introducing the X-Men at the beginning of their story. The Redditor also shared, "They can introduce a young Charles Xavier learning to use his powers and survive in an ever-changing world full of this new species being called mutants."
Namor Will Be The MCU's Next Mutant
There have been rumors thatNamor will be appearing in the upcomingBlack Panthersequel, with design leaks likely confirming this, but the exact details of his introduction to the MCU are still tightly under wraps. In the comics, he's one of the universe's first mutants - and Redditor wandadcosmosbelieves this will be the same in the MCU.
They write, "I'm sure Namor found some Atlantean/Aztecian relic that activated his X-Gene," much like Kamala's bangle in theMs. Marvel series. If this is the case, it seems like it could play a big part in the character's introduction - perhaps a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever theorysuggesting Namorcould be a villain or anti-hero.
Mutants And Inhumans Are The Same Things
In the comics, Kamala Khan is an Inhuman - yet in the MCU, it seems as though she's a mutant, so there are a lot of questions about what exactly the MCU is doing with these two similar (but clearly different) concepts. A theory from Redditor gab_knottersuggests that in this universe, they are two words for the same thing.
The theory refers to an important quote from the finale episodeofMs. Marvel, in which Kamala says that whatever she is, it will just be another "label." Perhaps this is the MCU's way of confirming that "inhuman and mutant are just labels for the same thing".
Carol Danvers Found The Second Bangle
Captain Marvel's appearance in the mid-credits scene of theMs. Marvel finale was a huge surprise, but Reddit user antonindolohovbelieves that it actually makes complete sense when fans consider Danvers' previous MCU appearance.
Theyposted, "In the post-credit scene of Shang-Chi, we see Wong informing Bruce and Carol about the ten rings and asking them if they can identify them...so I'm guessing that Carol found the trail of the ten rings and found the second bangle." They go on to explain that Carol's contact with the bangle forced her to switch places with Kamala, as fans saw at the end ofMs. Marvel.
Monica Rambeau Is A Mutant
The word itself was never used to define Rambeau throughout her time onWandaVision, but there are plenty of similarities between Rambeau and Khan that shouldn't go overlooked. Redditor homeslixenotes that Kamala's powers "sound more like Monica Rambeau['s], the more I think about it."
Rambeau discovered her powers after travelling through the Hex in Wandavision,so many fans are suggesting that this awoke her mutant gene in the same way that the bangle awoke Kamala's mutant gene andgave her the ability to use her true powers.
Djinn Are A Faction Of Inhumans
For the majority ofMs. Marvel, it was believed that Kamala Khan was a Djinn - though very little explanation was ever given to what this means. Some theorize thatDjinn is just a folklore term that's used to refer to Inhumans or mutants, whilst a theory from Redditor blackbird2285suggests that Djinn are actually a group of Inhumans, quoting" that would be pretty badass if the djinn were just a faction of ancient Inhumans."
The theory calls for a comparison between the Djinn and the "Royal Family on Attilan" - another faction of Inhumans from the comics. Perhaps the Djinn are just Inhumans that have beenliving in the Noor Dimension, much like the Royal Family live in Attilan. This could even be an easy way of reintroducing Black Bolt and his friends to the MCU.
Nick Fury Is Investigating Mutants
At the end ofSpider-Man: Far From Home,it was revealed that Nick Fury has actually been off-world for some time now, with himself and Maria Hill being replaced on Earth by Skrulls. Redditor kostispat257suggests that they're currently "investigating Kree sleeper agents" - or as this theory suggests, mutants.
In a detailed theory aboutwhy the MCU is introducing mutants right now, theysuggest that mutants were actually created by the Kree and placed on earth as the "sleeper agents" that Talos mentions inFar From Home. There are plenty of things about Nick Fury that don't make much sense right now, but this theory sheds a little light on those.
Captain Marvel Will Introduce The Fantastic Four
Whilst it has already been revealed that theFantastic Four are making their way to the MCU, it's still unclear how exactly this will take place. Plenty of things are up in the air, but Reddit user hailstate2023suggests that Captain Marvel will have something to do with it.
Ms. Marvel's bangle was originally found attached to the arm of a blue-skinned alien which many theorize tohave been a Kree, which suggests that the bangle couldactuallybe a Nega-Band - a device from the comics which transports the wearer to the Negative Zone. This theory suggests that Danvers could "serve as the liaison" betweenEarth and the Negative Zone, where many fans theorize the Fantastic Four are currently trapped.
The Ten Rings Were Once The Second Bangle
Perhaps one of the most interesting theories floating around Reddit is that of infinite-swordfish60, who suggests that the Ten Rings fromShang-Chiare actually the twin to Kamala's bangle, but broken down into ten pieces. They refer toShang-Chi's post-credit scene, asking, "what if [the ring] was trying to communicate with its twin, the bangle?"
The theory isn't quite as comic-accurate as some of the others on this list, but it would make for a great twist that even die-hard comic fans wouldn't see coming. It would also be a great opportunity of integrating one of Phase 4's best new characters, Shang-Chi, into theoverarching story of the MCU.
