New Operator - Tubarão

Unique Abilities & Playstyle

ZOTO CANISTER

The Zoto Canister is a throwable device that can can slow enemies, freeze devices to pause their deployment and prevent use, and even leave footprints behind if the frozen area is walked on.

New Map - Lair

LAIR IS COMING TO ALL PLAYLISTS

A facility on the coast of Portugal, Lair is Deimos' base of operations. With restricted access points from the air, the sea, and underground tunnels, it is both versatile and near impossible to assault in a large scale capacity. With 3 floors to explore, there are multiple entrances to Lair's sites. Each floor offers a unique theme, and offer different playstyle opportunities.

Balancing

Frag Grenade

The power level of Frag Grenades has been lowered to bring them closer to other gadgets, most noticable in the removal of the ability to cook Frag Grenades.

As a result, the secondary gadget has been redistributed throughout the Operator roster. They have been added to the following Operators:

• Osa
• Lion
• IQ
• Blackbeard
• Sens

Frag Grenades have also been given the same fuse system as Stun Grenades, meaning it has been reduced to 2 seconds with the first bounce if it was higher before.

Mira

• The bulletproof glass of Mira's Black Mirror can be shattered if a projectile drills into it and explodes from the inside, like Ash's Breaching Round or Kali's Explosive Lance

Marketplace Beta

Players are now able to register for a chance to access the new R6S Marketplace, which enters beta in early 2024. This marketplace is a safe and anonymous way for eligible players to trade their eligible items, only using R6S Credits, with a 10% transaction fee.

Versus AI Playlist Beta

A playlist with specially designed AI opponents is launching with this season, offering players a space to train with less stress. This will be exclusive (for the time being) to the Clubhouse map. The two difficulties for the AI are:

• Beginner
• Advanced

New players will need to play a practice match against these AI before switching to the Standard multiplayer playlist. The Advanced difficulty is a PvE environment where players can engage opponents in real-match situations. Players will be able to enter this solo, in a squad, or with other online players. 6 Operators will be available to choose from:

• Recruit
• Sledge
• Glaz
• Thermite
• Thatcher
• IQ

AI opponents select from Kapkan, Valkyrie, Smoke, Mute, and Bandit.

Map Training Playlist

Map Training is a unique playlist that allows players to learn different aspects of various maps. There are two available game modes, those being Landmark Drill, and Target Drill. Landmark Drill allows you to learn the location of important rooms and how to navigate them. Target Drill maps the regular routes to bomb sites and common opponent positions.

This season offers 7 maps for this playlist, including the new map, Lair.

• Controller Remapping
  • Players can create a custom layout for controllers that lets them customize their input
• Controller Deadzone Customization
  • Existing Stick Dead Zone options were updated so they can be set to 0, alongside new options
• Controller Lean Behavior
  • Coming mid-season, players can choose a leaning variant where players remain leaning while not aiming down sights, or the current behavior option
• Multiple Spectators
  • The limit of spectators in a match is increased to 4, and a button in the lobby allows players to switch between spectating or playing in a match

  • The bulletproof glass of Mira's Black Mirror can also be shattered if a projectile drills into it and explodes from the inside (Ash & Kali)

  • Replaced Smoke Grenades with Frag Grenades

Weapon Balancing

  • Damage: 43hp (from 47)
  • Stronger vertical and horizontal recoil
• Frag Grenade
  • Removed the ability to cook the grenade
  • Reduced the initial fuse time to 4 seconds (from 5)
  • Added the "Stun Grenade" cooking system, reducing the fuse time after the first bounce to 2 seconds

• Fidelity FX Super Resolution 2.0
  • FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 is a temporal upscaling algorithm that produces high resolution frames from lower resolution inputs. It favors quality over performance
• Y8S4.0 Download Size
  • On season launch, the download size will be more significant than usual ~50GB. This change aims to reduce the size on disk from ~70GB to ~50GB

Bug Fixes

The following bugs and issues have been fixed:

• Gameplay
  • Loadout changes between rounds when an Operator is picked by idling
  • Round ends in a draw if a Volcan Canister is destroyed near a hostage while Goyo is eliminated
  • Zero's Argus Launcher does not lose sight reticle or laser when deactivated by the Bulletproof Camera EMP
  • Hard Breach Charge can't be deployed on a small area of the reinforced wall
  • Hostages can set off Lesion's Gu Mines
  • Basic Tutorial progress can be soft locked in multiple ways
  • Attack Tutorial becomes soft locked if AI destroy the drone
  • Damage falloff and curves do not match description when 2 players are in Custom Game or the Shooting Range
  • Players can't lean while holding a drone while using controller
  • Players can't lean function if holding one of several Observation Tools
• Level Design
  • Players get stuck at EXT Street when vaulting over 2F East Corridor barricade after breaking it in the Defense Tutorial
  • Missing texture for pipe assets on the Clubhouse map that can be exploited by Valkyrie or Zero
  • Drones can't navigate through the EXT Guard Tower opening on the Fortress map during Preparation Phase
  • Players can reach an unintended vantage point in the north-eastern corner of the 1F Staff Room of the Bank
  • Players can vault onto unintended vantage point at 2F Dorm Main Hall of the Oregon map
  • Players can remain stuck in between the bomb and an indestructible coffee machine at B Cafeteria on the Consulate map
  • Players can remain stuck in falling animation between metal pads and the metal rail located in EXT Street of the Attack Tutorial map
  • Players cannot vault over the kitchen counter in 1F Staff Room of the Bank map
  • Ace's S.E.L.M.A. fails to deploy on the lower destructible wall in 2F Meeting Room of the Consulate map
  • Floating tree during the MVP screen of the Villa map
  • Wrong compass location displayed between 1F East Stairs and 2F East Stairs of the Border map

  • Kapkan's Entry Denial Device can be deployed through Azami's Kiba Barrier
  • Iana can sprint after self-reviving from Frost's Welcome Mat
  • Fenrir's F-NATT Dread Mine location list appears as placeholder when placed on the outside tower in EXT Back Alley of the Theme Park map
  • Wrong animation plays for players affected by Fenrir's F-NATT Dread Mine while leaning left and running
  • Grim's Kawan Hive is destroyed when shot within Mute's Signal Disruptor range
  • Valkyrie's Black Eye is losses signal when thrown on to the ceiling at 2F Astronomy of the Villa map
  • Valkyrie's Black Eye losses signal if it's thrown into the crevices of the ceiling at 1F Main Stairs of the Border map
  • Players that are downed aren’t affected by Sens' R.O.U. Projector System
  • Floating wall remains for a few seconds after destroying Sen's R.O.U. projector during deployment
  • Clash can fire her weapon before the weapon swap animation finishes
  • Wrong animation plays for Zofia and Tachanka when self-reviving with Thunderbird's Kona Station
  • A Kludge Drone that's been hacked by a Defender can no longer hack if Dokkaebi takes over Defender Observation Tools
  • Goyo's Volcan Canister becomes invisible or stuck when a drone is deployed at the same time
  • Amaru's Garra Hook can clip through wall
  • Amaru's Garra Hook launcher losses functionality if player goes prone while deploying the hook
  • Zero's Argus Camera can be hidden through destructible map assets

  • RTS camera rotation is inverted when viewing a match as a spectator
  • Map text and preview loads incorrectly when multiple online Custom Matches load
  • HUD disappears for Defenders when Attackers pick up the hostage

  • Hostage escort prompt is missing if a previous attempt to grab them is canceled halfway through
  • Hip fire crosshair is missing during match replay
